The Hukilau

This gorgeous tri-fold card includes a lot of fun details. The designs on the front are hand punched and reveal the red behind. I love the offset squares with the message centered across the opening.

Inside, your message can be either printed on vellum or printed directly on the yellow with thermal printing. Either way, they will be attached with eyelets to match the red background.

All paper is coverweight and top quality. Colors can be changed, ribbons added, and further alterations are welcome. This card measures 5.5 inches square

Getting Just the Right Picture

When it comes to Holiday cards, the picture is the main attraction. So how do you get just the right one?

Some people like to get professional picture taken, whether it is an on-site outdoors shoot, or a studio shoot. Things are well planned out, outfits co-ordinated, smiles are bribbed (or threatened!) out of every one. They work well.

Other people like to take a simple snapshot of their favorite vacation that year, or of their new home, or other significant event that happened that year.

I also have friends who will snap a simple photo and turn it black and white. Voila, every one matches :)

So, don't stress out too much about which picture to use. Just pick one that represents your family and the passing year. Does the baby always stick his tongue out? Does your 2nd grader only wear green? Capture the moment now, because it will change before you know it :)

The Italia

I am in love with this card. My favorite design so far!

The Italia begins with a simple family photo. The photos are always the central piece when it comes to holiday cards! The picture is mounted on card weight shiny silver paper. The card base is a deep red, card weight of course. Then, I took a 2.5 inch wide strip of shiny forest green and hand punched a festive swirl on each side. I mounted that off center, 2 inches from the top and 1 inch from the bottom.

Then, the photo is mounted, centered width wise, but lower leaving room for the beautiful ribbons. I used a wide translucent green ribbon, a ribbed red ribbon, and a thin and shiny silver ribbon. All tied nicely at the top in a gorgeous knot. The holes are punched not at the fold, but offset to the front of the card so that you can see it better.

The Orlando

This card includes a lot of fun details. It begins with a beautiful forest green card weight paper that is folded with a little overhang, for the family name or any other message you choose. The family photo is mounted on a card weight deep brown which is then hand punched with 3 hearts. The hearts are of varied sizes and shapes, for a contemporary appeal. I mounted white cardstock behind the brown so that the hearts would show up easily, then mounted it all onto the green card.

Inside, your personal greeting would be printed on vellum paper, which is then secured inside with four eyelets.

This card can be customized in many ways. Colors can be changed and ribbons can be added. I can punch almost anything along the side, if you don't like the hearts. Or, the punches can be replaced with ribbons. Or, the card can be trimmed to fit the picture with even edges on all sides.

The Catalina

This card incorporates a beautiful full size 4x6 photograph. The photo is mounted on card weight shiny silver, which is mounted on a beautiful card weight blue. The card measures 5.5 x7.5 and is finished off nicely with a blue and a silver ribbon tied on top. The date is cut from white cardstock and affixed with acid free glue directly to photo.

Colors can be changed, ribbons can be added or taken off. This is a simple card with so many possibilities!

The Sydney

This is a beautiful card that incorporates a simple family picture. It is on a purple cardstock which I have folded with a slight overhang with the purpose of seeing the family name or any other message you wish at the bottom.

It has a layer of beautiful card weight shiny silver and a smaller layer of card weight red and the photo is precision mounted on the right hand side. The white zig zag ribbon is mounted under the red paper, so there are no sloppy or fraying ends.

Your personalized message would be printed on white cardstock and precision mounted inside the card.

Your design can be tailored in many ways. This card can be made such that the card folds evenly, no over hang at bottom. It can easily be made to vertically, to accomodate a portrait oriented picture. Colors can be changed, and ribbons added.
